LEADERSHIP STYLE IN HEADS OF NURSING SERVICES AND IT´S RELATIONSHIP IN JOB SATISFACTION

Introduction: Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence people and is classified according to style and how it is perceived. This determines in many cases the productivity of the group. Good working conditions translate into job satisfaction, but to achieve this, problems must be overcome that must be solved. Objective: To determine the relationship between leadership and job satisfaction in a hospital in Buenos Aires in the first half of 2021. Materials and methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, with an observational design. The survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire as an instrument. Results and discussion: 58.9% of those surveyed identify democratic leadership, the transactional leadership being greater with 71.2%. 83.6% of nursing graduates are satisfied with the leadership style that they are exercised. It is evidenced that there is a relationship between the leadership style and the level of satisfaction in 100% of the nurses when the leadership is autocratic and transitional. The most common leadership style in service administration is transformational, followed by transactional and democratic. It was identified that there is no significant relationship between leadership styles and job satisfaction, confirmed with Pearson's Chi-square test, obtaining a value of 15.0 and p = 0.2414. Conclusions: There is no relationship between the leadership style and job satisfaction of the nurse in a hospital in Buenos Aires, during the study period.Downloads
