The purpose of this narrative literature review article was to define the variables of character and personality strengths, within the field of positive psychology, and to investigate the relationship established between them. For this purpose, different sources of information were analyzed and studies by different authors were compiled. Mainly updated academic research articles were consulted, most of them no older than five years. Thus, the proposed analysis first addresses the construct of character strengths and their meanings, within the field of positive psychology, understood as universally recognized psychological mechanisms through which virtues are displayed. Then, that of personality, understood as the determinant organization of the behavior of individuals, in how they perceive themselves and the world around them. Finally, some relationships studied to date on the link between the two variables were addressed. In conclusion, it was observed that character strengths influence how people feel and act, and this has an impact on the way they see and approach the world. At the same time, finally, the aforementioned character strengths contribute positively to personality development.Downloads
